Wētā FX took performance capture to the limit for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, taking crews deep into the harsh, remote Australian bush in search of authenticity. Crew members endured difficult conditions, putting in hours to bring out nuanced performances that make the apes breathe.
Using the latest technology, actors’ expressions and movements were recorded very carefully, and every emotion and gesture translated flawlessly onto the screen.
