Reimagining Terry Gilliam’s cult classic Time Bandits was always going to be a bold adventure—especially under the creative direction of Taika Waititi. With a story that spans multiple fantastical worlds, traditional filmmaking methods weren’t enough. To bring this vision to life, the team embraced cutting-edge virtual production.
Led by Max Serges (Production VFX Producer) and Tobias Wolters (Production VFX Supervisor), the production partnered with Dimension and DNEG 360 to execute a seamless script-to-screen workflow. From immersive environments to dynamic world-building, virtual production played a key role in transporting audiences into the new Time Bandits universe.
